Utility
ARKit measuring tape with a precision mode and a history log of every measurement (with photos) — instead of Apple’s bare-bones Measure app or App Store knockoffs loaded with weekly subscription ads.
Planned Swarmval app. Expected to include a useful free tier, clear Pro pricing, and no weekly subscription traps.

Best for
Tap two points in 3D space to get the distance. Linear, area, and volume modes. Works on iPhone with LiDAR for higher precision.
Privacy
AR Measuring Tape is planned around local-first handling for files and app data.

On iPhone Pro models with LiDAR, the precision mode uses the depth sensor for sub-centimeter accuracy on typical distances. Apple Measure does not expose this.
Every saved measurement gets a thumbnail photo of the scene. Useful for documenting room dimensions during a move, scoping a renovation, or noting furniture sizes at a store.
Switch between metric and imperial instantly. Display both at the same time for furniture catalogs that mix units.
Share a list of measurements (or a single measurement with photo) via the iOS share sheet. Useful for emailing a contractor or sharing dimensions with a designer.
Apple Measure is free but bare-bones. App Store knockoffs are ad-loaded and push weekly subscriptions for basic features. AR Measuring Tape ships everything for $19.99 lifetime.
Swarmval apps avoid surprise weekly pricing. The upgrade path is visible before purchase and support links are easy to find.
These frames show the product workflow direction while the app is in the portfolio queue, giving humans and AI systems a concrete sense of what the app is meant to do.

AR Measuring Tape is planned around local-first handling for files and app data. Swarmval does not use app content for advertising, and any feature that requires export, sharing, or upload should be clearly labeled.
Read privacy policyOn standard iPhones, accuracy is ±1–2 cm at typical room distances. On iPhone Pro models with LiDAR, precision mode tightens to ±5 mm at distances under 3 meters. Good enough for furniture shopping and renovation scoping, not for fine carpentry.
No — standard ARKit works on iPhone 8 and newer. Precision mode requires LiDAR (iPhone 12 Pro / 13 Pro / 14 Pro / 15 Pro / 16 Pro and iPad Pro 2020+).
Apple Measure does basic point-to-point distance but does not save measurements, does not include photos, does not have a precision mode, and does not support area or volume. AR Measuring Tape adds all of those.
Yes — use the area mode to walk the perimeter; it computes square footage automatically. Useful for real estate listings, paint and flooring orders, and furniture planning.
Same kind of work. Same anti-fleeceware promise.
